Parents of a newborn are naturally nervous at the thought of taking their new little one out to a photography studio for a session. Will they scream? Constantly be hungry? Can we as parents manage to put on real clothes and get out of the door on time? Its stressful! We can totally relate! With 6 kids between us, we absolutely remember how intimidating those first few outings with a newborn were! This is one of the many reasons we LOVE doing wrapped newborn sessions in our cosy studio.
We all know that swaddling involves wrapping a newborn baby snugly to provide a sense of security and comfort. Your baby has spent their entire existence in the womb, which is a warm and snug environment. Wrapping a newborn can help replicate that feeling for them. It helps them to feel safe and comforted throughout the session.
Firstly, swaddling can help soothe a newborn and help us get those sweet sleepy photos. Newborns are easily overstimulated and can become fussy and irritable when they are tired or hungry. Wrapping can help calm them down and make them feel more secure. During a newborn session, we aim to capture peaceful and serene images, and a wrapped baby is more likely to be in a relaxed and contented state, making for better photographs.
Secondly, wrapping can also help prevent their startle reflex, which can cause them to wake up suddenly and become upset. Wrapping can help avoid this reflex from disturbing their sleep, and can also help keep their arms and legs in a safe and comfortable position.
Lastly, a newborn session where the baby is swaddled the entire time can be a stress-free experience for the parents as well. When parents see their baby all wrapped up and sleeping, it helps them relax, knowing their baby is safe and comfortable. It can also make the session shorter and less overwhelming for the baby, which can help prevent them from becoming overstimulated or overtired.
In conclusion, a wrapped newborn session can have numerous benefits, including promoting better sleep, preventing the startle reflex, and helping babies and parents feel safe and comfortable during the session.

An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment. I believe that you ought to write more on this topic, it may not be a taboo matter but usually people dont speak about such subjects. To the next! Cheers!!
