There are many poses that we can do at your newborn photo session. We have all of the tools and materials needed to create a beautiful variety in your gallery! Typically, we do a few poses on 2 different fabrics, then move to props where we do different wrap styles in props. Feel free to let us know your favorites, along with poses you don’t love. We love customizing each session! Of course, if you love them all and have no preferences, we love designing sessions too!
Bum-Up Pose
We love this cute pose of the baby on their belly, with their feet crossed underneath them.
Side-lying Pose
A cute sleepy pose on the baby’s side, usually with the hands together under the cheek.
Froggy Pose
Something important to know is that this is taken in two shots; one where the top of the head is held, and the other where the wrists are held. The baby is never actually supporting him/herself in this way. The two shots are then combined in Photoshop to get the final look. *There are some babies who do not like being posed this way, and we will never force a baby into a pose they do not want to do.
Jammies/outfits – in props or on fabric.
We have a great selection of these soft knit outfits!
Egg Wrap
We love this wrap for keeping babies warm and snuggled, but showing off their cute details!
Chin on Hands Pose
This cute pose can be done on fabric or in a prop. This is another pose that some babies like, and some babies don’t. Again, we will never force it!
Toes Out Pose
This pose includes a criss-cross wrap with little feet peeking out at the bottom.
Potato Wrap Pose
Probably our favorite way to wrap! Babies LOVE it, too. They are all balled up, warm and cozy, and we have tons of beautiful wraps to choose from. We always include these in galleries.
Macro Shots
These are very close shots of newborn details, capturing all the sweet parts of their first days. They are typically shot on white fabric and look especially great in black and white (although super cute in color, too!)
Family Posing – Lifestyle Bed Setup
Our beautiful, sunlit lifestyle area has soft textures, exposed brick, and neutral tones to complement any color scheme. We also have a full client closet for moms. This backdrop is the perfect setting for a homey, lifestyle look without having to clean your house!
Family Posing – Backdrop
These portraits have a fine art look to them, making them perfect for printing and displaying. We have backdrops in white, tan, brown, and dark gray. The two bottom examples are backlit, where the family is placed against white curtains with light coming through the back.
