In all of our years of photographing newborns, we have done many types of sessions. In-home, in a basement studio, in our rented studio, we have done it all! One question we are asked a lot is, what do I need for newborn photos? The answer will hopefully help you to relax, because it’s not much! Read on to find out why.
While we will absolutely try and incorporate heirloom pieces into your session, you don’t need to worry about special outfits or props. If you look at our website, you will see that we don’t prefer the look of character outfits or cheesy props. We love to keep our setups classic and simple, so that your beautiful baby is the main focus. We have lots of wraps and props like baskets and crates to complete the looks you see in our work.
All you need to bring are the basics you probably already have in your diaper bag: diapers and wipes, a bottle and formula (if you’re bottle feeding), and a pacifier. But guess what: we have everything but the formula at our studio! So if you happen to forget something, we probably have it.
If you’ve chosen our package that includes a family session, bring them along with an outfit for each person. We generally suggest that if siblings are in photos, one parent can take them for a drive or outside for a little after the family portion is done. The might get a little bored with the newborn part! We have a few snacks at the studio, but you may want to pack a few favorites or a toy/ipad etc. Click here for more info about including siblings! Ready to book with us? Great!
